Just when we thought that ADSL was cool...

...yes, we are all getting used to the fact that ADSL seems to be pretty cool and we are connecting to the internet at speeds that once upon a time would only be available in the USA. But just as the country is completing its infrastructure upgrade...The dudes in the States are preparing to get 500Mb either way, to their home! Alloptic are offering FTTP (Fibre to the Premise) deployment, which can be up to 16km from the local exchange! none of this 5-6km max distance crap like you get here! Read more at Alloptic.
